Let’s talk matte / dull coat sealers for Miniatures – Testors, Krylon, Plaid, and Vallejo

Last year, Testors Dull Coate was my go to sealer for all my miniatures.  I’d spray 3 coats of Krylon or Rustoleum gloss for protection then spray a layer of Testors to kill the shine.  A little gloss brush on from Vallejo for weapons, slime, or water, and the figure would be done.  This miniature was sprayed with the old version of Testors dull coate.  (Yes, I said “old version.”  Keep reading…

Photos can’t do this massive diorama justice.  This is from the Darksword Miniatures line (based on Larry Elmore’s artwork.)  The original painting is called “Teamwork” and Darksword made this fabulous set of miniatures to go with it.  I assembled it as far as the customer wanted, used Milliput to fill in the joints (easy work considering how large a figure this is) and painted it on commission.  Beautiful resin and metal combination set.

I’m offering some different types of commissions to raise money for a camera to photo my miniatures.  This is my job, not just a hobby, so I need decent pictures.  I’m currently using an ancient one which I was able to get cheaply from Ebay, but a decent model will cost me around $100.

I currently have 8 out of 10 slots open.

I also paint miniatures on commission starting at $1.50 for assembled, primed (if needed), simple base army builders.  Contact me for me details.
